Story
Village doctor Jerome Lovell discovers in the wilderness of North Carolina a "savage" who eschews people and speaks an unknown language. It turns out that the mother raised Nell and her twin sister without any contact with civilization. From birth, the girls have not seen a single person except their mother and each other. Due to trauma, Mother Nell's speech was severely distorted, as a result of which Nell speaks her own special language. After the death of the mother and sister of the matured Nell, she has to go into the big world. The doctor wants to help Nell adapt, and psychology student Paula Olsen and her boss Alexander Paley insist on studying her in the laboratory. This creates an emotional conflict reflected in the film.
