“Return of the Seven” ( Eng. Return of the Seven ) - a movie , a western 1966 release. Continuation of the adventures of the magnificent seven . Of the original cast, only Yul Brynner (the role of Chris Adams ) remained. Other heroes who survived in the finale of the first film are played by other actors. So, Robert Fuller replaced Steve McQueen in the role of Vin, and Julian Mateos played Chico (earlier Horst Buchholz starred in this role).

Production
Filming was carried out in Spain, and therefore the film can conditionally be attributed, like its continuation (" Guns of the Magnificent Seven "), to the genre of European spaghetti western . According to some reports, Steve McQueen , who acquired the status of a superstar since the release of the first part of the picture, despite being very busy, was planning to star in The Return of the Magnificent Seven at the request of Brinner, but, after reading the script, found him disgusting and refused. According to other sources, Steve refused to withdraw due to a conflict with Brynner.
Story
Another gangster captures the entire male population of one village. The unfortunate find themselves in the position of slaves building a church. So the authoritative leader wants to honor the memory of his sons who died in this place. As in the first part, the brave cowboy types a team and goes to do justice.
Criticism
The film was heavily criticized, as Variety magazine called it "unpleasant, heavy, clichéd (unsatisfactory ... plodding, cliche-ridden. [1] ); at the same time, composer Elmer Bernstein was nominated for an Oscar for music for the film .
