Tulagi ( born Tulagi ) is one of the islands in the Nggela group (Florida), northeast of the island of Guadalcanal [1] [2] . Administratively part of the Central Province of the Solomon Islands .

Geography
Small island (5.5 km per 1 km).
History
During the British protectorate, power in the protectorate was exercised by British resident commissars, whose residence was in Tulagi. The island has a slightly healthier climate than the territories on the nearest islands.
During the battle of May 3, 1942, Japan occupied the island. The US Army landing force landed on August 7 and captured Tulagi after a day of intense fighting.
