About the album
Work on the album began back in 2000, with the help of the band Lupine Howl. But, according to a message from Robert Del Nye dated July 17, 2002, posted on the band’s official website, the album’s original material was deemed unusable and destroyed.
From the original Massive Attack to the 100th Window , only Robert Del Nye “3D” remained. Andrew “Mushroom” Wolves left immediately after recording the previous album, Mezzanine , and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall spent more time raising his daughter than music. Neil David joined Robert, and with the continued assistance of Horez Andy and Sinead O'Connor, the album was recorded in 2003. This was the first album of the group, which did not use electronic samples.
The title of the album is taken from The Hundredth Window: Protecting Your Privacy and Security in the Age of the Internet.
