Many species are an integral part of the intestinal flora in animals, including Candida albicans .
Candida albicans ( lat. Albicans - whitish) - forms white, large, cream, round colonies on agar, the clinically most significant representative of the genus. Causes candidiasis (thrush) in humans and other animals, especially in patients with immunodeficiency.
Some species were used for the production of fodder yeast , in particular for the production of paraffin directly from oil paraffins .

C. kefyr / Kluyveromyces marxianus , C. firmetaria / Pichia fermentans , C. lipolytica / Yarrowia lipolytica , C. krusei / Issatchenkia orientalis and some others can be found in ordinary kefir. C. albicans , C. pseudotropicalis , C. tropicalis , C. krusei , C. parapsilosis , C. quillermondii , C. glabrata , C. lusitaniae and some others can cause diseases. Candida albicans ( Robin ) Ber Khout (synonyms: Monilia albicans , Oidium albicans , Candida claussenii , Candida langezoni ) is a conditionally pathogenic fungus [1] .
