Pronunciation

The consonant [x] is a deeply posterior noisy fricative dull consonant . There is no similar sound in Russian.

Arabic [x] is much harder than Russian X in such cases as "wheezing", "snoring", "fragile".

When articulating the sound [x], the tongue moves back to the tongue , and the back of the tongue rises to the soft palate. A narrow gap forms between the back of the tongue and the tongue, through which air is blown. The speech apparatus during articulation of sound [x] is tense " [1] .

You should know that with the incorrect pronunciation of this sound, the meaning of the word can dramatically change, for example:

  • خَلَقَ
  • حَلَقَ
  • هَلَكَ

In all three cases, it was written (in transliteration into Cyrillic) “HaLaKa”, but in the first case the word means the verb “create, create”, in the second - “shave”, and in the third version it makes sense to “die, disappear”.

Therefore, it is proposed to pay special attention to the pronunciation of these similar sounds.
