Toyota Rush

Toyota Rush is a 5-door mini SUV that went on sale in Japan in January 2006. This is a joint project with a subsidiary of Daihatsu (Toyota owns 51% of the shares there). That is why this model entered the domestic Japanese market immediately under two different brands - Toyota Rush and Daihatsu BeGo . These cars differ only in emblems (nameplates) and are sold both in Toyota showrooms and in Daihatsu showrooms. In fact, this car replaced the second generation of Toyota RAV4 , since in the same 2006 the third generation of Toyota RAV4 appeared , which became much larger than the second. And in fact, Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) has occupied the market niche of Toyota RAV4 .

The machine is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine of the new generation 3SZ-VE, originally developed by Daihatsu specialists. This engine is also installed on some other models of these both companies - Daihatsu Coo, Daihatsu Boon, Daihatsu Mira, Toyota Vitz (2005-), Toyota bB and some others. At the same time, directly in Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) this engine is located longitudinally (and not transversely, as in all other numerous cars where this engine model is also used).

In Europe, South America and the Middle East, Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) is sold under the name Daihatsu Terios II . At the same time, in other countries (unlike the domestic Japanese market), this car is also available with engines of 1.3 and 1.5 liters.

In Russia, a unique situation is observed with this car (today). Since the Daihatsu brand is not officially sold in Russia and there is no advertising, this car under the Daihatsu Terios brand is imported into Russia by "gray dealers" in very small volumes (usually from the United Arab Emirates and Turkey). The vast majority of Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) in Russia are right-hand drive cars imported from second-hand domestic market in Japan. However, since January 1, 2010, import duties on used cars were raised by the government of the Russian Federation (and Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) not so long ago entered the category of “three-year cars” that are profitable to clear customs, the cost of a Toyota Rush ( Daihatsu BeGo ) car in the secondary market it increased sharply and quite significantly, which negatively affected the popularity of this car, including in the Russian Far East. As a result, there is a demand for this car, but it is not officially sold in Russia with a left-hand drive, but has become very right-hand drive expensive them.

Vehicle dimensions: length 3995 mm, width 1695 mm, height 1705 mm. Wheelbase: 2580 mm. Machine weight: 1150 kg ( rear wheel drive ) or 1190 kg. ( 4WD -FullTime).

The all-wheel drive modification of the Toyota Rush is equipped with an anti-slip system with a self-locking differential LSD (Limited Slip Dfferential) in the rear axle (this is an option that was available at an additional cost only on Toyota Rush 4WD), which evenly distributes torque between the rear wheels, as well as the vehicle stability control system VSC (Vehicle Stability Control).
