August Wilhelm Trabandt ( German: August-Wilhelm Trabandt ; 1891 - 1968 ) is a German military commander who commanded the Trandand combat group, which took an active part in the battles against Soviet troops on the Dnieper .

Biography
Born July 21, 1891 in Spandau (administrative district of Berlin ). A.V. Trabandt took part in the First World War , where he was wounded.
November 1, 1933 - July 1, 1935 - was a member of the SA ;
November 1934 - received the rank of SA Standartenfuhrer .
May 7, 1936 - received the title of SS Hauptsturmfuhrer , became a member of SS No. 21885;
November 9 - received the title of SS Sturmbannfuhrer ;
April 20, 1938 - received the title of SS Obersturmbannfuhrer .
August 12, 1939 - became a member of the NSDAP (ticket number 7035171);
May 11, 1940 - received the rank of SS Standartenfuhrer ;
July 1940 - recalled from the front to Germany (for a champions scam in May 1940 in France );
August 10, 1940 - May 19, 1942 - was temporarily in the service in the Department of acquisition of troops of the SS (department BI).
September 1941 - charged with looting of stolen goods during the performance of official duties;
August 12, 1942 - expelled from the ranks of the SS. On August 19, 1942, J. Dietrich wrote a letter to the SS Reichsfuhrer calling for mercy to be shown to Trabandt.
October 24 - reinstated in the ranks of the SS and sent to the front in the rank of Hauptsturmfuhrer;
October 25 - at the head of the battalion fought against the partisans in the “Russland-Mitt” (near Pskov );
September 15, 1943 - appointed commander of the 39th SS Panzergrenadier Regiment;
November 8, 1943 - received the title of SS Obersturmbannführer;
November 9 - received the rank of SS Standartenfuhrer;
October 18 - January 24, 1944 - appointed commander of the 1st SS Motorized Infantry Brigade;
November 1943 - commanded the SS- "camphor Traband";
December 1943 - during the operation "Nikolaus" defeated Soviet formations on the Dnieper;
January 25, 1944 - January 3, 1945 - was at the head of the command of the 18th SS Division "Horst Wessel" ;
July 1, 1944 - received the title of Oberfuhrer SS;
February 1945 - commanded the Panzergrenadier school “Prosechnits”;
April 20 - received the rank of SS Brigadeführer and SS General Major General ;
April - May 8 - commanded the 31st SS division ;
May 1945 - captured by Soviet troops;
1954 - transferred to Germany ;
He died on May 19, 1968 in the city of Ahrensburg (near Hamburg )
