Career
Darren started playing for Everton as a child, from there he moved to Blackburn Rovers , and then moved to Liverpool , the Academy of which he later graduated from. Potter debuted in the first team in the summer of 2004, when he replaced Steve Finnan in the Champions League match against the Austrian HAK . The second leg against this team Darren began in the starting lineup. In the 2004/05 season, he took part in 10 matches of the first “ red ” squad, and the next year he played in pre-season friendly matches and several qualifying rounds of the Champions League.
On August 31, 2005, Potter signed a new three-year contract with the club, and on January 26, 2006, he went on loan until the end of the season at Southampton . It was decided that he would spend the next season on loan at Wolverhampton , in January 2007 the clubs agreed that the player’s agreement with the “ wolves ” would become permanent.
Darren Potter played for the Irish national teams of various ages, taking part, in particular, in the 2003 World Youth Championships . In 2007, he made his debut in the first team of Ireland, playing in a match against Ecuador .
