Biography
Born on May 15, 1972 in the village of Sosva, Serovsky District, Sverdlovsk Region . In 1989 he entered the Tbilisi Higher Military Artillery Command School named after him.26 Baku commissars. After the dissolution of the Tbilisi VAKU in 1992, he continued his studies at the Kolomna VAKU. In 1993 he graduated from the Kolomna Higher Artillery Command School .
From November 20, 1994 to February 1995, he participated in hostilities to restore constitutional order in Chechnya. Participant in the storming of Grozny on New Year's Eve 1994-1995. He was awarded the Order of Courage and the medal "For Military Valor" 1st degree.
Feat
On March 1, 2000, when performing a combat mission on the territory of the Chechen Republic, the guard captain Romanov was an attached art corrector of the 6th paratrooper company of the 104th Guards parachute regiment of the 76th Guards Airborne Division.
Died, causing artillery fire on himself . For courage and heroism shown in battles with terrorists , he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Russia .
Memory
- March 1, 2011 in Sosva, at school No. 1, where Victor Romanov studied, the memorial plaque of the Hero was solemnly opened. On December 11, 2014, a memorial stela was installed on the school's territory [1] . In the same village, the street is named after the hero.
