iTunes Originals

ITunes Originals is a series of digital releases available only through the iTunes Store . The project was conceived and developed for a long time by the DJ of the radio station “KCRW” and the director of musical films Chris Douridas, [1] who recruited Stephen Marsh for mastering the albums. [2] Each release contains music by one artist. Releases typically contain more than 20 tracks (some over 30), which include music from releases, new recordings (like previously released, and sometimes unreleased songs) specifically for iTunes Originals , and recorded artist lyrics to familiarize yourself with the story their creativity, and / or discussion of future songs. [2] [3] Some releases also include videos, both previously released and created specifically for iTunes Originals . Songs recorded exclusively for albums are usually recorded in a recording studio.

Most iTunes Originals albums are available on the US iTunes Store, and there are different kinds of music in every release in stores in other countries. Sometimes there are originals available only in other countries; The first striking example of this is the Japanese release of Ulfuls, which was the most downloaded album in Japan during the first four days after the launch of the iTunes project in that country in August 2005. [4] [5] Although they certainly contain full releases of long lengths (most of them are longer than the length of an 80-minute CD ), but the fact that most of the tracks are either previously released recordings, dubbed, or lyrics as a result of the release The artist’s “first album” is generally not considered.

By 2006, 15 iTunes Originals albums had been featured on Billboard charts as the best digital albums, including The Fray , Ben Harper , Rob Thomas, and Fiona Apple . [6] The best-selling digital album in 2005 was iTunes Originals - Sarah McLachlan . [7]
