Neeman studied at the gymnasium "Herzliya" , from which he graduated with honors at the age of 15 years [1] . In 1942 he joined the underground detachments of the Hagan organization. He took part in the Arab-Israeli war of 1947-1949 .

In 1958, Yuval Neeman was sent to the post of military attaché at the Israeli embassy in London . He entered the graduate school of the Imperial College of Science and Technology at the University of London .

In 1961, regardless of Murray, Gell-Mann proposed the classification of hadrons by means of SU (3) aromatic symmetry, called the octal path .

In 1961, Yuval Neeman returned to Israel and worked as director of the laboratory of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission. He later stood at the head of the Israel Space Agency , he is considered [ who? ] one of the founders of the space program of Israel.

In 1969, he was awarded the State Prize of Israel , which he subsequently refused and returned to the Ministry of Education and Culture, after one of the later awards, which was of a political rather than meritocratic nature (presumably [by whom? ] contrary to the statute of the award) . In 1971 he was elected president of Tel Aviv University . Combined the position with the work as the Minister of Science and Technology of Israel (in 1982-1984 and 1990-1992).

In 1992 he signed the “ Warning to Humanity ” [2] .
