Born May 5, 1949 in Moscow.

He studied at the Moscow Academic Art School of Memory in 1905 , the Architectural , Stroganov and Polygraphic Institutes , but did not graduate ^[3] . Consisted of the Union of Artists of the USSR , was one of the initiators of the Union of Designers of the USSR. Prior to working on television, he specialized in the design of the urban environment ^[4] , also made advertising windows, painted large van cars, designed apartments and houses ^[3] .

Until 1996, she was the head of Levin-Studio, a company engaged in design: animation, computer graphics, interior planning, exhibitions.

Since the end of 1992 - on television. At the invitation of Lev Nikolayev, for a short time he conducted the program “Joy of Design” on Ostankino Channel 1 ^{[5] [3]} .

Since 1993 - on NTV - design, design ^[6] . In 1994 - the award of the Union of Designers and Computer Graphics. In 1994 - animated computer graphics for NTV won the Grand Prix at the International Competition "Anigraph" ^[7] . In 1995 - Grand Prix for the "best design of the year" for the graphic identification of NTV.

Since September 1995 - artistic director of NTV. In 1996, the studio of Semyon Levin "NTV-Design" was formed, which developed a new style of the television company. Since 1996 - General Director of NTV-Design .

Studio Semena Levina " NTV-Design " has created corporate styles NTV , " NTV-Plus ", " NTV-International ", TNT ^[8] , radio " Echo of Moscow ". ^[9]

In 2001, the owner of the NTV television company changed, after which Levin left the channel with a group of journalists protesting against the seizure ^{[6] [10] [11]} . He organized Teletelee ^[3] , which in the shortest possible time created the logos and design of TV-6 ^{[12] [13]} , RTR ^{[14] [15]} , “ Culture ” ^[16] and TVS ^[17] channels .

In 2002, 15 papers by Semyon Levin were awarded prizes at prestigious competitions held in the USA : the OMNI Intermedia Award ^[18] and the AXIEM AWARDS.

After the collapse of the TVS in 2003, he emigrated to Jerusalem and began making "clothes" for the international Russian-language channel RTVi ^[19] , became the art director of DomVideo, which, in addition to television, worked with film production ^[20] .

In 2004, he made virtual effects for the TV movie “ Convoy PQ-17 ” ^{[21] [22]} , for which Levin’s studio won the platinum award in the Visual Effects in Cinematography nomination and 7 awards at the OMNI INTERMEDIA AWARDS-2004 competition ^[20] .

He died at the 57th year of his life on September 9, 2005 in Jerusalem from a serious illness ^[23] .
