Regent University is a private university located in Virginia Beach , Virginia , USA . Founded in 1978 by television preacher Pat Robertson with the assistance of CBN Broadcasting Company called CBN University , in 1990 the university received its modern name.

It is engaged in the preparation of "Christian leaders", the university formulates its mission as "the transformation of society through competent, highly professional Christian leadership." The training is conducted in the following areas: modern means of communication and art, business, law, theology, education, state relations and public leadership.
According to the university, about 150 of its graduates went to work for the federal government after winning the 2001 presidential election of George W. Bush , supported by Pat Robertson.
