Story
Young aspiring singer Miranda Presley (not a relative of the singer) moves after the death of her father, a huge fan of Elvis, from New York to Nashville . She is very ambitious, writes songs, plays the guitar and wants to become a famous singer. In Nashville, she ends up in the famous Bluebird Pub (which actually exists and whose hostess plays herself in the film), where preselection auditions of young performers take place every week. The pub is famous for the fact that many singers who began their careers there later became famous country stars.
At the pub, Miranda meets a more talented than she, but overly puffy and gloomy pessimist James Wright (River Phoenix), who, however, unlike her, immediately gets a job as a singer and wins her love. There, Miranda meets Linda Lou Lindon (Sandra Bullock), a pleasant girl who is unlucky in love with her boyfriend Billy or in her career. Linda falls in love with the hero of Dermot Mulroney, a talented songwriter who will eventually be performed by Trisha Jarwood herself, who in turn madly and without reciprocity falls in love with Miranda, the girl of her best friend James.
