Patrick Anthony Jennings ( born Patrick Anthony Jennings ; born June 12, 1945 , Newry , Down County ), better known as Pat Jennings, is a Northern Irish footballer , from 1964 to 1986, the goalkeeper of the Northern Ireland national team .

He played 119 matches for the national team, is the country's champion in this indicator, at one time it was a world record. Jennings also held the age record of performing in the final stage of the world championships. He spent his last match in Mexico 86 against Brazil on his 41st birthday. He, along with Colombian goalkeeper Farid Mondragon , is one of two participants in six cycles of the world championships, including the qualifying stages (from World Cup 66 to World Cup 86). Best known for playing for the London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal .
