Group History
The group was formed in 2002 in Montreal Canada , from members of the Neuraxis , In Dying Days and Heaven's Cry bands. In the same year, they released their debut album Consumed By Your Poison via Canada's Galy Records . In early 2004, they released their second release, EP Syndicated Murderers .
In 2005, Despised Icon recorded a split album with the band Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus , which was released on Relapse Records . A little later, the group recorded the full album The Healing Process.
After the concert tours of 2005 - 2006, the group began recording a new album, which was released in 2007 under the title The Ills Of Modern Man.
After a long tour around the world, including two visits to Russia (February 18 and December 1, 2008), Despised Icon began recording their next album. The new Despised Icon album, titled Day Of Mourning, was released on September 22, 2009. In April 2010, the group announced its breakup after a farewell tour.
In January 2014, the band announced their return to the stage:
