Amorín ( port. Amorim ) is a region (freesia) in Portugal , part of Porto district. It is a part of the municipality of Póvois de Varzim . It is part of a major urban agglomeration of Greater Porto . According to the old administrative division was part of the province of Douro-Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical sub-region of Greater Porto , which is included in the Northern region . The population is 2856 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 5.65 km².
