Another circle

The Bell family is a close-knit family of Italo-Americans living in Boston, Massachusetts. Joe is the head of the family, owns a construction company. He has been married to Marilyn for 34 years and they have three children - Tony, Renata and Ian. Ian is going to get married, which makes Renata wonder why her lover Rob has not yet made her an offer. As soon as Rob discovers that he never plans to marry her, she abandons him and returns to her parents.

Renata travels to the Caribbean , where a course on selling condominiums takes place. She meets Sam Sharp, a successful salesperson who delivers a speech at a training seminar. They are instantly attracted to each other and Sam escorts her back to Boston , where Renata introduces him to his family. A chain-smoking abrasive, Sam overly wants to please. While most of the Bell family gives Sam a chance, Ian seems to dislike him. This upsets Renata, and her siblings become tense. Ian finally apologizes and gives Renate her blessing.

Sam and Renata got married, Sam moved his business from New York to Boston so that he could spend as much time with Renata. At Joe’s late mother’s memorial, Sam tries to sing a song in her honor, but Bella’s family especially Marilyn tells him that this is completely inappropriate. Renata tells Sam that he is tearing her family apart. They are reconciled, and the next day their child is born at Renata. At baptism, Sam suffers from a heart attack and immediately goes to the hospital.

Now, in a wheelchair, Sam is greeted at home at Bella's residence to celebrate Christmas with his family. During dinner, he lights a cigarette, which irritated Renata throws into a glass of wine. On a frozen lake. Renata is skating, and Sam and their daughter are watching from afar. Sam passed away while still holding his baby. After the funeral, Renata mourns, but is grateful for the time they spent together and for the fact that Sam changed her life for the better. Joe guides the funeral procession through several turns at the roundabout, which Sam really enjoyed during his life.
