Lagarteira ( port. Lagarteira ) is a region ( fresseia ) in Portugal , part of the Leiria district. It is an integral part of Anxian Municipality. According to the old administrative division was part of the province of Beira-Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Pinyal-Interior-North , which is included in the Central region . The population is 566 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 7.76 km².
