Gatoynes ( port. Gatões ) is a region ( fregezia ) in Portugal , part of the Coimbra district. It is an integral part of the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho . It is part of a large metropolitan area Big Coimbra . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Baishu-Mondegu , which is part of the Central region . The population is 541 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 5.76 km².
