It is part of a large metropolitan area Big Coimbra . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Baishu-Mondegu , which is part of the Central region . The population is 1620 people for 2006 . It covers an area of 18 km².
