Aranyas ( port. Aranhas ) is a region ( fregezia ) in Portugal , part of the Castelo Branco district. It is an integral part of the municipality of Penamacor . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Baixa . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Beira-Interior-Sul , which is part of the Central region . The population is 440 people for 2001 . Covers an area of 5.50 km².
