Alkongosta ( port. Alcongosta ) is a region (freesia) in Portugal , part of the Castelo Branco district. It is part of the municipality of Fundane . According to the old administrative division was part of the province of Beira-Baixa . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Cova da Beira , which is included in the Central region . The population is 573 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 7.48 km².
