Alcaide ( port. Alcaide ) - a region ( fregezia ) in Portugal , part of the Castelo Branco district. It is an integral part of the Fundan Municipality. According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Baixa . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Cova da Beira , which is part of the Central region . The population is 764 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 16.95 km².
