Vilares ( port. Vilares ) is a settlement and district in Portugal , part of the Guarda district. It is an integral part of the municipality of Trancoso . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Alta . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Beira-Interior-Norte , which is part of the Central region . The population is 258 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 11.69 km².
