Abasas ( port. Abaças ) is a locality and district in Portugal , part of the Vila Real district. It is an integral part of the municipality of Vila Real . According to the old administrative division, it entered the provinces of Traz-u-Montish and Altu-Douro . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Dourou , which is part of the Northern region . The population is 1074 people in 2001 . It covers an area of 18.86 km².
