Espinho ( port. Espinho ) - a region (fregezia) in Portugal , part of the district of Viseu . It is an integral part of the municipality of Mortagua . It is part of a large metropolitan area Big Coimbra . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Alta . Included in the economic and statistical subregion of Dan Lafoynes , which is part of the Central region . The population is 1,412 people in 2001 . It covers an area of 41.40 km².
