Caria ( port. Caria ) is a region (fresseia) in Portugal , part of the Viseu district. It is part of the municipality of Moimenta da Beira . It is located within the large urban agglomeration Big Viseu . According to the old administrative division was part of the province of Beira-Alta . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Douro , which is included in the Northern region . The population is 579 people for 2001 . It covers an area of 15.82 km².
