The Birth of Magni

In the country of giants, at a feast in a friendly house, Thor met the giantess Järnsax, who liked the God of Thunder. He took her to Asgard , where she gave birth to a son Magni.

Odin’s wife Frigg predicted a great future for the boy, and three prophetic norns predicted that he would surpass his father in everything and that in the future he would carry a Mjolnir hammer .

Saving Father

When Magni was three nights old, he could boast of remarkable strength. After the fight between Thor and Khrungnir , when the giant's leg crushed the god, the boy easily helped him to free himself. Then he (at the age of three nights) asked a seer named Groa to help save Thor from a piece of sharpener in his head left over from the battle with the giant.

Introduction to the

Since Yarnaksa was not Thor's lawful wife, the boy had to be introduced into the clan in order to confirm his belonging to the Asam . The feast took place at Aegir , the owner of the underwater chamber. Loki tried to prevent this, but was shamefully banished from the holiday. Magni was introduced into the family and since then has often accompanied Thor on his travels.

Magni on Ragnarok's Day

Returning from the lower world ( Hel ), the gods saw an ancient mound in which the old Völva , the seer, slept. She told the gods about the day of Ragnarok . In this battle, Magni is destined to lose his father and inherit his hammer, continuing the battle. After the victory, he, together with the other young gods, will create a new world with new orders, which will resemble the times of youth of the departed gods, the best time of the old world.
