Cividade ( port. Cividade ) is a region ( fressea ) in Portugal , part of Braga district. It is part of the municipality of Braga . It is part of the large urban agglomeration of the Big Minho . According to the old administrative division was part of the province of Minho . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Kawadu , which is included in the Northern region . The population is 1,422 people for 2011 . It covers an area of 0.28 km².

In 2013, as a result of the reform of the administrative structure, the district as an independent administrative unit was abolished and became part of the united region, which included the territories of Mashiminush , Sé and Cividade ( port União das Freguesias de Braga (Maximinos, Sé e Cividade) ), with the center at Mashiminos .
Attractions
The district is located on the eponymous hill, which was the center of the Roman settlement Bracara Augusta . In the vicinity, despite the relatively dense urban development, several archaeological sites of the pre-Roman and Roman eras have been preserved.
