It is part of a large metropolitan area Big Aveiro . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Baishu-Vouga , which is part of the Central region . The population is 6,712 people. It covers an area of 26.74 km².
