Alkerubin ( port. Alquerubim ) is a region ( fregezia ) in Portugal , part of the Aveiro district. It is an integral part of the municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha . It is part of a large metropolitan area Big Aveiro . According to the old administrative division, it was part of the province of Beira Litoral . Included in the economic and statistical subregion Baishu-Vouga , which is part of the Central region . The population is 2390 people. It covers an area of 15.44 km².
