Unver, Süheyl

Süheyl Unver ( tour. Süheyl Ünver ; 1898 - 1986 , Istanbul ) - Turkish writer and doctor.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Darulphun in 1920 . He worked in the hospitals of Haseki and V. Gureba. He worked as an assistant at the School of Industry.

Received additional education abroad. Founder of the Medical Faculty of Istanbul University . At the Academy of Arts worked as a teacher. In 1939 he received the title of professor. In 1967, at the Faculty of Medicine Jerahpasha founded courses in the history of medicine and courses in deontology. In 1973 he retired. He died in 1986 .

He knew Farsi, French and Arabic. He was interested in all aspects of Turkish culture. He collected collections and donated his entire archive to the Institute and the library of Suleymaniye. Most of the time devoted to research and publications. Member of 18 scientific clubs. He has published about 2500 books and works on the history of medicine, science and culture. In 1985 he received an award from the Ministry of Culture, also the owner of foreign awards.

Author of many articles in newspapers, magazines and encyclopedias.

He drew inspiration from his teachers Ali Ryzy-Bey , Abduluiziz Mejdi Torun, Akyl Mukhtar Ozdan.
