According to one version, the group named itself after the postal code E-17 in the Walthamstow district of London . Over the entire career of the group, 18 singles were released, which hit the top 20 songs in the UK, and four albums, which were in the top 10 of the British chart. Their songs contain both rap - and pop motifs, there are also ballads. The most famous songs of the group: "House of Love", "Steam", "Stay Another Day", "It's Alright" and "Let It Rain", written by the author and band member Tony Mortimer .
History
The band originates in 1991, when Tony Mortimer showed his London record material and was offered a contract. It was decided to create a musical group, which included Brian Harvey - vocalist and dancer, as well as Therance Caldville and John Handy.
The group sold about 20 million copies of their albums (1 million more than Take That ). Between 1992 and 1998, Mortimer and his team led the Top 10 Hits On The UK Singles Chart 12 times. Walthamstow 's debut album, reached number one on the UK Albums Chart.
