Biography
In 1972, the Edwardian family moved to Lipetsk, where in 1986 he graduated from secondary school No. 5 named after the Hero of the Soviet Union S. D. Litavrin with a gold medal and entered the Burdenko Voronezh State Medical Institute in the same year. In 1988 he was called up for military service. After serving one year, he returned to college to continue his studies. After graduation, he worked as a doctor in Lipetsk, in the medical unit of the Svobodny Sokol plant.
From April 1, 1996 he served in the internal affairs bodies of Lipetsk . Twice he went on business trips to the North Caucasus .
He died on September 5, 1999 in Dagestan in the village of Novolaksky . During the attack, the terrorists were captured and, refusing to give the names of the commanders, the location of the OMON combat positions, and assist the wounded militants, was brutally killed.
Eduard Belan was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation on October 22, 1999 .
Memory
In 1999, the name Belana was given a new street in the southwest part of the city of Lipetsk .
