A stress interview is an interview in which they try to unbalance a candidate, put him in a situation where he feels uncomfortable or simply do something that the applicant is not ready for.
It is used when applying for a job involving a large number of stressful situations - a top manager, a sales manager, an advertising or insurance agent. It is also justified if the company is developing so rapidly that you need to be constantly prepared for changing conditions. In fact, the presence of a stressful interview is a kind of indicator of intense, stressful work in this company [1] .
Examples of stressful interviews include:
- elevated conversation ;
- fast pace of the conversation - constant questions, as soon as the applicant answers, they immediately ask the next question, not related to the first;
- questions about the personal life of the candidate;
- conversation on the go;
- constant interference during the interview, the presence of strangers.
