Paris , 1942 Robert Klein sees no problems in the fact that the Germans are occupying France . He has a nice apartment, a lover and a growing business. Jews discriminated against by laws passed by the French government sell valuable works of art — and it’s easy for Klein to negotiate a bargain price. His pleasant life collapses after he discovers that there is another Robert Klein - a Jew with a very mysterious behavior. Very soon, such a homonymy attracts the close (and threatening) attention of the police to a respectable art dealer.
Alexey Tyutkin notes that in this film, viewers saw the unfamiliar to them earlier role of Alain Delon . Here he does not play a dashing guy, in this film “you can discover for yourself the new Delon ... by tearing off the corny cliché with him and reaching the very heart of the piercing sound of the role” .
