Biography
Karlis Sebris was born on February 18, 1914 in the village of Sinole of the Valka county (now - in the Leiassciem parish of the Gulbene region of Latvia ).
He graduated from Lizum elementary school, then in 1932 - Tsesvaynsky state high school, and in 1938 - Latvian drama courses Zeltmatis .
Since 1938 - actor of the Latvian National Theater (in 1940 - 1988 - State Academic Drama Theater of the Latvian SSR named after A. Upit). He performed on the stage of his theater all his life, having played more than two hundred roles.
The film debut took place in 1940 at the Riga film studio in a small role in the film directed by V. Puce " Kaugur Uprising ".
He died on January 12, 2009 in Riga. He was buried in the Forest Cemetery .

Interesting Facts
In 2007, a monument to the chimney sweep and mason was erected in Riga . The prototypes for this sculptural composition (authors Karlis Ile and Girts Burvis) were the chimney sweep Varis Vilzans and actor Karlis Sebris [2] [3] .
