Born April 10, 1820 . He graduated from the University of Leipzig and in 1847 settled in Dresden , where he held various positions. From 1853 he was a member of the local city council, and from 1854 - vice-president and then president. In 1878 he received honorary citizenship in this city. From 1869, he, as the representative of the Dresden electoral district, met on the left bank of the Elbe in the German Reichstag and belonged to the German Conservative Party; has shown its activities in the field of industrial law. In 1881-1884 Ackerman was the second vice president of the Reichstag.

Karl Gustav Akkerman died on March 1, 1901 .
