Jan Wijn ( Dutch Jan Wijn ; born 1934 , Amsterdam ) is a Dutch pianist and music teacher.

He graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory ( 1955 ) with Cornelius Burkhout , also studied under the supervision of Bela Shiki and Alicia de Larroch . In 1960 , he was awarded the first prize at the international piano competition in the Spanish city of Ourense . In 1975 - 1996 for medical reasons, was forced to limit his repertoire to compositions for the left hand, then was able to return to a wider repertoire. He recorded the piano concerts of Mozart , Beethoven , Saint-Saens , Rachmaninoff , Ravel , the compositions of Chopin , Liszt , Brahms , Debussy and others.
In 1962 - 1969 taught at the Brabant Conservatory, since 1969 in Amsterdam. Among Wayne's students are Hans Eisakers , Yoram Ish-Hurwitz , Bas Verheiden , Ivo Janssen , Vibi Suryadi and other famous Dutch pianists.
