The province of Pinar del Rio ( Spanish: Pinar del Río ) is one of the 15 provinces of the Republic of Cuba , located on the western part of the island. The administrative center of the province is the city of Pinar del Rio . The province has a population of 592,851 inhabitants and a population density of 66.72 inhabitants per km², making the province the eighth largest population.

The area of Pinar del Rio is 8,885 km². The province borders on the east with the province of Havana (La Habana).
