History
As of 1886, 1,245 people lived in the village of Shireucy of the Lipkan volost, and there were 218 courtyards. There was an Orthodox church in the village [6] .
Geography
The village of Shireuza is located on the left bank of the Prut River at the Moldovan-Romanian border, about 21 km south-west of the city of Briceni . The nearest Moldovan settlements are the city of Lipcani and the village of Pereryta .
The village is located at an altitude of 149 meters above sea level [1] .

According to the 2004 census , 2,407 people (1,139 men, 1,268 women) live in the village of Shireluc [2] .
