Biography
From 1999 to 2001 he participated in the World Junior Championships. The best result was the 12th place in 2001.
At the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, he took 26th place at 1,500m and 16th at 5,000m.
From 2003 to 2011, he won the Italian championship in classical all-around annually.
In 2005, he became the silver medalist of the world championship in the team race.
In 2006 he became the champion of Europe.
At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, he became the bronze medalist at 5000 m and the Olympic champion at 1500 m and in the team race.
At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, he could not win a single medal.

World Record
