Hippocrenus , other name Ippokrena ( dr. Greek Ἵππου κρήνης - horse source) [1] - a sacred spring [2] on the top of Helikon in Boeotia, according to legend, having beaten the winged horse of Pegasus with a hoof. For muses, he was a source of inspiration.

The tridents also had a source of Hippocrenus, which appeared where Pegasus hit with a hoof. Orestes were purified with water from this source [3] .
