Title
The bridge got its name from the name of a small Finnish village, known since the 17th century . It was located in the lower reaches of the Fontanka River . The name is interpreted in two ways: on some old maps Kalyula is written, on others - Kallina. In the early years of the construction of St. Petersburg, the name of the village was redone in Russian fashion and it was called Kalinkina . The name of the village was also imprinted in the name of the Staro-Kalinkin bridge over the Fontanka and Malo-Kalinkin bridge over the Griboedov Canal [2] .
History
- In 1836, the bridge was built according to the design of P.P. Bazen, J. Sedov. It was a wooden arch bridge with granite abutments (according to other sources, brick with granite lining).
- In 1866, overhaul was made
- In 1876, the bridge was rebuilt, the fence was made of cast-iron pedestals and gratings, lampposts with artistic casting
- In 1902, due to the laying of tram rails, the bridge was expanded and strengthened (without changing the design)
- In 1929-1930, the bridge was rebuilt again (reinforced concrete single-span bridge with a through superstructure) according to the design of O. E. Bugaeva and B. D. Vasiliev.
- In 1997, according to the project of the Stroyproekt Institute, the bridge was repaired - the reinforced concrete slab of the carriageway was reinforced, concreted pavement consoles were concreted, and a power fence was installed [1] .
- The bridge appeared in the news of 2010 in connection with the scandal, the reason for which was the dishonesty of contractors and the failure to meet the deadlines for repairing the bridge pavement in 2010 [3] . As a result, the work was postponed to September [4] .
