Geography
It is located about 119 km northwest of the city of Sarkand .
Located on the Lepsy River, south of Lake Balkhash .
Railway station on Turksib .
History
In 1938, received the status of a working village.
In 1941-1959 and 1972-1997, it was the administrative center of the Burliu-Tobin district [2] .
Since 2013 - again a village [3] .
Population
In 1999, the village population was 3842 people (1859 men and 1983 women) [4] . According to the 2009 census , 2567 people lived in the village (1297 men and 1270 women) [4] .
Museum
In 1941, the museum building was built in the village of Lepsy, which until 1983 functioned and was used as a public utility. Later, from 1983 to 1993, there was a district military registration and enlistment office. And only since 1993, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Kazakh composer, the " M. Tulebaev Memorial Museum" was formed here. In the exhibition halls, the beginning of the creative path of M. Tulebaev is presented, as well as the works included in the "golden fund" of Kazakh classical music. The museum exposition is represented by 4 rooms on 18 topics. The area of the museum is 357.3 sq.m. Today the museum fund totals - 1636 units. museum objects, of which the main fund is 806 units, scientific and auxiliary - 830 units.
