Characteristics
This is a flashing star , a red dwarf of the main sequence of spectral class M4.5 . The mass of the star is only 8.5% of the mass of the sun. Although YZ China is quite close to our solar system, it is not visible to the naked eye.
Planetary system
The YZ Cet system (GJ 54.1, HIP 5643) using the HARPS spectrograph on a 3.6-meter telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile detected 3 planets with a near-earth mass. orbits with periods of 1.97 and 4.66 days, but the orbital period of the average planet, YZ Ceti c, was most likely incorrectly determined, and its true period is 4 times shorter, and instead of 3.06 days it is approximately 0.752 days (or about 18 hours)!
As a result, the minimum masses of the planets have also changed. Now their values are as follows: 0.58 ± 0.11, 0.65 ± 0.15 and 1.21 ± 0.2 M⊕ for the planets c, b and d (that is, from the inner to the outer, respectively). [2]
Star's Neighborhood
The nearest neighbor of YZ Kita is the single star Tau Kita - they are separated by only 0.72 light years. To the star Leyten 726-8 - 3.6 St. of the year.
