Holbox ( Spanish: Holbox ) is a village in Mexico , Quintana Roo , a municipality of Lazaro Cardenas with a population of 1,198. Located on the island of the same name.

The name comes from the Yucatec language and means a black hole . The main activity of the residents is tourism services. This is a very picturesque place with 34 km of beaches and seafood restaurants.
