Club career
Michael Sylvester began his career in the French Rennes in the 1995/96 season. In France, Sylvester proved to be a talented player, and in the 1997/98 season was signed by the Milan International . For the Italian team, he played 18 matches in Serie A , as well as 6 games in European competitions. September 10, 1999, Sylvester acquired Manchester United .
Mikael made his debut at Manchester United in a match against Liverpool in 1999. In the first season at Old Trafford, Sylvester played in the center of defense with Yap Stam , replacing the injured Ronnie Jonsen . By the 2001/02 season, Michael was firmly entrenched in the main team of Manchester United, but with the advent of Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra in 2006, he was on the bench. He played the last game for Manchester United on May 11, 2008 against Wigan Athletic (the last round of the Premier League), then Manchester United won 2-0. In total, Manchester United played 361 matches and scored 10 goals.
August 21, 2008, it was announced the transfer of Sylvester to London 's Arsenal . This transfer subsequently became one of the most unsuccessful for the London club according to fans.
On August 30, 2010 he moved to the German Bundesliga , where for two years he played for the Bremen Werder Bremen .
On February 19, 2013, Sylvester signed a two-year contract with the Portland Timbers .
On January 28, 2014, Sylvester terminated the contract with the Portland Timbers [1] .
